We are seeking a Technical Writer to join our team of technical writers responsible for creating and maintaining documentation for our software products. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Technical writer with experience in technical writing and a deep understanding of software development and documentation best practices. The Technical Writer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and usability of our product documentation.
Responsibilities
- Be fully involved in the documentation process from initial design to release
- Manage revisions to existing documentation, including release notes, installation guides, user guidelines
- Ensure consistency and accuracy across all product documentation, including the development of a technical documentation style guide and a microcopy style guide
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and customer support, to understand product features and requirements
- Manage on-premises documentation schedules to ensure timely delivery of documentation
- Prioritize the documentation pipeline to ensure critical issues and long-term projects are addressed in a timely manner and understand how to prioritize escalated documentation issues
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical or product writing
- Strong understanding of software development and documentation best practices
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences
- Experience with documentation and development tools such as Doc360 and Jira
- Knowledge of content management systems and version control systems
